About how Abu Sayed was Shot Death in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement 2024.

Abu Sayed was a student of Rangpur Begum Rokeya University and an active activist in the 2024 quota reform movement. He was also a coordinator of the movement. He was shot dead by a policeman during the July 16 movement. On July 16, around 2:30 to 3 pm, a clash broke out between the protesting students and the police in front of Rokeya University in Rangpur. During this time, the police fired tear gas and baton-charged to disperse the students. Even though all the students moved away, Abu Sayed stood with a stick in his hand and extended his arms. In this situation, the police opened fire on him from a distance of approximately 50-60 feet. The police position was in front of the main gate of the university. Even after the shooting, Abu Sayed did not move from his position, he remained standing. At one stage, after being injured by several bullets, he fell to the ground. He died before other students could take him to the hospital. Abu Sayeed was the first martyr of the anti-quota discrimination movement. Abu Sayed's death was not just the loss of a person's life, it was the sacrifice of a young man fighting for justice.
